Terms of Entry & Official Tournament Rules

By submitting a registration, paying an entry fee, selecting an acceptance checkbox, signing electronically, checking in, submitting a catch, or participating in Beach Break Big Fish Derby, the entrant (the “Participant”) confirms that the Participant:

• Has read and understands these Terms;
• Agrees to comply with all Tournament rules and official instructions;
• Has reviewed and accepted the Tournament's separate Liability and Legal Disclaimer;
• Understands that Tournament participation is voluntary;
• Understands that violation of these Terms may result in catch rejection, score adjustment, disqualification, removal, prize forfeiture, or other appropriate action; and
• Accepts the authority of the Tournament Director and designated judges as provided below.

For a team entry, each team member must separately register or otherwise be identified and approved by the Organizer and must individually accept all required legal agreements.

An entry is not complete until the Organizer has received:

• A complete and accurate registration;
• All required entry fees;
• All required acknowledgments, releases, and electronic signatures;
• Any information required to establish division eligibility; and
• Confirmation that the entry has been accepted.

Registration is personal to the Participant and may not be transferred, sold, assigned, or shared without the Organizer's prior written approval.

A Participant who has not reached the legal age of majority must have a parent or legal guardian:

• Complete or approve the minor's registration;
• Accept the Tournament's Liability and Legal Disclaimer;
• Provide any required medical authorization;
• Accept these Terms on behalf of the minor to the extent permitted by law; and
• Provide the supervision required by the Junior Division rules and applicable law.

The following documents are incorporated into these Terms: the Official Tournament Species and Division Guide; the Tournament Liability and Legal Disclaimer; the Refund and Cancellation Policy; any division-specific supplement; any separate Big Fish Side Pot rules; any separate drawing or raffle rules; the Privacy Policy; and any written rule amendment or safety directive officially issued by the Organizer.

Applicable law always controls. Subject to applicable law, a division-specific rule controls over a conflicting general competition rule for that division. The Liability and Legal Disclaimer controls matters involving assumption of risk, release, indemnification, and liability. The Refund and Cancellation Policy controls refunds, credits, and transfers.

Official Tournament communications may be issued through the Tournament website, the official registration email address, the official submission platform, announcements made at check-in, text or electronic alerts sent by the Organizer, or another communication method identified before the Tournament begins. Participants are responsible for reviewing official communications and keeping their contact information current.

The Tournament is intended to promote responsible surf fishing; community participation; fair and honest competition; proper fish handling and conservation; sportsmanship; respect for beaches, wildlife, and other beach users; and sponsor-supported local involvement.

Entry does not guarantee that a Participant will catch an eligible fish, receive a score, win an award, qualify for a prize, or experience any particular fishing, weather, surf, access, or beach condition.

The Tournament is shore-based unless the Organizer expressly announces another division or format in writing. Participants must fish from locations authorized by the Tournament boundaries and applicable law. No person may use a boat, kayak, stand-up paddleboard, flotation device, drone, or other prohibited assistance to conduct shore-division fishing.

Individual entries and Organizer-approved team entries may be offered. Each approved team must comply with the applicable team roster, composition, scoring, and eligibility requirements published before fishing begins. Unless the Family Team Division rules expressly provide otherwise, a fish may not be transferred, pooled, or credited from one Participant or entry to another.

Only fish caught within the published Tournament boundaries, during the official Tournament fishing hours, by a properly registered Participant, using a permitted method, and in compliance with applicable law and these Terms are eligible for submission or scoring. The official boundaries and fishing hours (start and end) will be published as Details coming soon.

Except where an approved team, Junior Division, disability-accommodation, or safety rule expressly permits assistance, the Participant receiving credit for a fish must personally hook, fight, and land that fish. Passing a rod to another person after a fish is hooked is prohibited. A fish hooked before the official start or after the official end is not eligible. Reasonable emergency assistance intended to prevent injury is always permitted, but the Tournament Director may determine that a fish landed with such assistance is ineligible for competitive scoring.

A fish caught outside the Tournament boundaries or Tournament hours may not be transported into the Tournament area, staged for later photography, or submitted for credit.

Each Participant is solely responsible for knowing and following all then-current laws and regulations applicable to the Participant, location, species, fishing method, and catch. This includes California fishing-license requirements; required validations and report cards; marine protected areas and other closed or restricted areas; species closures and protected-species rules; open seasons; minimum and maximum size limits; bag and possession limits; gear, hook, bait, and tackle restrictions; catch-and-release requirements; beach-access, parking, vehicle, and local ordinances; and any emergency or in-season regulatory change.

Important — Tournament rules never override California law. When a Tournament rule and applicable law conflict, the law controls.

No instruction, statement, scoring decision, species guide, website entry, or act or omission of a Tournament official authorizes a Participant to violate the law.

Information supplied by the Organizer is provided for Tournament administration and general convenience. It is not legal or regulatory advice and is not a guarantee that a particular species, location, fishing method, or retained catch is lawful. Participants must verify applicable requirements directly through current governmental sources.

A catch is ineligible if the fish was caught, handled, measured, photographed, retained, transported, or submitted in violation of applicable law. The Tournament Director may disqualify a catch or Participant based on credible evidence of unlawful conduct, whether or not a citation was issued by a governmental authority.

Only species identified as eligible in the final Official Tournament Species Guide may be submitted or scored. The final guide is published on the scoring page.

Before official fishing begins, the Tournament Director may clarify species names or identification standards, species groupings, division eligibility, minimum scoring measurements, species-specific photo requirements, and any clerical error or ambiguity in the species guide. After fishing begins, the Tournament Director may remove or suspend a species if necessary to comply with law, a governmental order, or a material safety concern. A new scoring species will not be added after fishing begins unless required to correct an obvious publication error and the correction can be applied fairly to all Participants.

A prohibited species, protected species, species taken during a closed season, or species unlawfully taken or possessed is not eligible. Nothing in these Terms encourages the targeting, extended handling, or retention of a fish that applicable law requires to be immediately released.

The Participant is responsible for accurate species identification. Designated judges have final authority over species identification for Tournament scoring purposes. When the photograph or supporting evidence does not allow reliable identification, the submission may be rejected.

The Organizer may publish additional eligibility, tackle, scoring, roster, and award requirements for each division before registration closes.

A Participant may not enter more than one primary division. No Participant should assume that a single registration qualifies the Participant for multiple divisions.

The Big Fish Side Pot is supplemental to the primary Tournament competition unless the separate Side Pot Rules state otherwise. Participation requires timely registration, payment of any separate Side Pot fee, compliance with the Side Pot species and measurement rules, and compliance with any separate eligibility or prize-distribution requirements. A catch may receive credit in both a primary division and the Big Fish Side Pot. Separate Side Pot Rules must state the eligible species, entry fee, prize calculation, tie-breaking method, refund treatment, and method for handling unclaimed or unavailable prizes.

A Participant's division selection becomes final at the beginning of official fishing unless the Tournament Director approves a correction of a registration error before fishing begins. A Participant may not change divisions after seeing catches, scores, conditions, or other Participants' results.

The Participant must satisfy all published eligibility requirements for the selected division and must provide reasonable proof of eligibility upon request. The final guide must specify the maximum age for the Junior Division; the date on which Junior eligibility is measured; the number of people permitted on a Family Team; the qualifying family relationships, if any; the Women's Division eligibility standard; whether a Participant may compete both individually and as part of a team; whether division awards may be combined or “stacked”; and whether Bait and Artificial Lure Division catches may also count in Open Shore.

The final Division Guide must clearly define the methods permitted in the Bait and Artificial Lure Divisions. For the Artificial Lure Division, the Organizer must state whether commercial scent, attractant, flavored material, bait-derived material, or natural-bait tipping is permitted only as specified. No Participant may switch between a bait and artificial-lure method for a division entry unless the applicable division rules expressly permit it.

Team rosters must be complete and approved before the announced check-in deadline. A person may not be added to, removed from, or substituted on a team after official fishing begins except to correct an Organizer error. Each fish may be credited to only one Participant or team entry.

Rod-and-reel surf tackle is required unless a special division expressly provides otherwise.

Each Participant may use only one active rod at a time unless the Organizer publishes a different rule for a specific division. An “active rod” means a rod with a baited hook, lure, or fishing line deployed or being actively used in an attempt to catch a fish. A Participant may possess additional assembled or unassembled rods, but only one may be actively fishing at a time.

Only tackle, hooks, bait, lures, attractants, and fishing methods permitted by applicable law and the selected division may be used. Approval under Tournament rules does not establish that tackle or bait is lawful at a particular location or for a particular species.

Unless expressly permitted in a published special division, Participants may not use:

• Boats;
• Kayaks;
• Stand-up paddleboards;
• Drones;
• Flotation-assisted fishing;
• Remote-controlled or motorized bait-placement devices;
• Another person to cast, hook, fight, or land the fish;
• Another person's fish or fishing line; or
• Outside assistance that provides an unfair competitive advantage.

This rule does not prohibit reasonable emergency assistance or an accommodation approved by the Organizer in advance, provided the accommodation is lawful, safe, and does not fundamentally alter the competitive requirements.

A Participant may not pass an active rod to another person for the purpose of completing a catch. No person may claim a fish hooked or caught by another Participant.

The Tournament Director or a designated judge may inspect a Participant's measuring device, rod, tackle, bait, lure, event identifier, original photographs, or other competition-related equipment when reasonably necessary to verify compliance. Refusal to cooperate with a reasonable inspection may result in rejection of the affected submission or disqualification.

Catch and release is strongly encouraged when lawful and reasonably safe.

Fish should be handled carefully; supported appropriately; kept out of the water only as long as reasonably necessary; measured promptly; photographed clearly; and released promptly whenever release is required or intended. Participants should prepare the measuring device, event identifier, and camera before removing a fish from the water whenever conditions reasonably permit.

Any retained fish must comply with all applicable size limits, bag and possession limits, seasons, species restrictions, report-card requirements, handling requirements, and other retention or transportation rules. Tournament eligibility does not establish that a fish may lawfully be retained.

A Participant may not delay a legally required release merely to improve a photograph, obtain additional images, wait for assistance, move to another location, or complete an upload. A submission is not eligible if obtaining the measurement or photograph required unlawful possession, unlawful handling, or an unlawful delay in release.

A fish may not be transported, stringered, penned, caged, held in a container, or otherwise restrained solely for later Tournament measurement or photography when doing so would violate law or compromise fish welfare.

Every submitted fish must be measured using a device approved by the Organizer. An approved device is one that is issued by the Organizer, specifically identified in the Official Tournament Guide, or approved in writing by the Tournament Director before fishing begins. The Participant is responsible for ensuring that the device is legible, accurate, undamaged, and fully visible in the submission.

For Tournament scoring purposes, measure the fish in a straight line from the tip of the snout to the tip of the tail. Unless a species-specific rule provides otherwise: the fish must lie flat on the measuring device; the mouth must be closed; the snout must be positioned at the zero point or approved measuring stop; the fish may not be stretched, compressed, bent, or otherwise manipulated to increase length; the tail must remain in the position required by the Official Tournament Guide; and the measurement must be visible without estimation beyond the photograph.

The submission must clearly show the entire fish from snout to tail; the fish positioned on the approved measuring device; the zero point or measuring stop; all measurement markings necessary to verify length; the required physical Tournament identifier; any species-identification features reasonably necessary; and any additional element required by the Official Tournament Guide.

The required event identifier must be physically present in the original photograph. A digitally added identifier, copied identifier, reused identifier from another event, or identifier that is not clearly readable may result in rejection.

A submission may be rejected when it is blurry; cropped so that the fish, zero point, tail, or measurement cannot be verified; overexposed, underexposed, obstructed, or unreadable; altered, composited, stitched, filtered, or digitally manipulated; missing the required event identifier; inconsistent with the original image or metadata; or otherwise insufficient to verify the species, length, time, location, or rule compliance. Judges are not required to estimate a measurement that the photograph does not clearly establish.

Participants must retain the original, unedited photograph and any associated video or submission confirmation until final results have been announced and the protest period has expired. The Tournament Director may request the original image file; available metadata; additional photographs; a brief description of the catch; the approximate catch location; witness information; or other reasonably relevant verification information. Failure to provide reasonably requested verification may result in rejection of the submission.

The Tournament measurement method is used only to determine Tournament scores. It does not replace or modify any measurement method imposed by California law for determining whether a fish may be retained or possessed. Each Participant remains responsible for using the legally required measurement method when evaluating legal size.

The default score is the combined total length of the Participant's or team's five longest timely verified eligible fish. If fewer than five eligible fish are verified, the score is the combined length of the eligible fish that were verified.

Each individual fish measurement will be rounded down to the nearest one-quarter inch before the fish is added to the score. Examples: 18.00 → 18.00; 18.24 → 18.00; 18.25 → 18.25; 18.49 → 18.25; 18.50 → 18.50; 18.74 → 18.50; 18.75 → 18.75. No measurement will be rounded upward.

A fish may score only when it is an approved species; was caught during official Tournament hours; was caught inside the official boundaries; was caught using an authorized method; was caught and handled in compliance with law; satisfies all measurement and photo requirements; was received through the official submission method before the cutoff; and has been verified by the Tournament judges.

The same published scoring and measurement method will be applied consistently within each applicable division. A division-specific supplement may establish a different scoring method only when that method is published before fishing begins.

A Participant may submit more than five fish unless the Official Tournament Guide establishes a submission limit. The Organizer will select the five highest-scoring verified fish eligible for that entry.

When a photograph clearly establishes that a fish reached one measurement but does not clearly establish the next quarter-inch mark, the lower verified measurement will be used. A Participant's entered measurement does not bind the judges.

All displayed scores and standings are provisional until required verification is complete; duplicate or invalid submissions have been removed; the protest period has expired; any protests have been decided; and the Tournament Director announces final results.

Every scoring submission must be received by the Official Submission Platform no later than the announced cutoff on the event date. The Organizer's official system time controls.

Important — late submissions do not count.

A submission received after the official cutoff is late even when the fish was caught before the cutoff; the Participant began the upload before the cutoff; the upload was delayed or queued; the Participant lost cellular or internet service; the Participant's device displayed a different time; the Participant sent the photograph to an unofficial email address, telephone number, volunteer, or social-media account; or the Participant made an unsuccessful submission attempt before the deadline.

Participants are responsible for cellular or internet connectivity; device power and operation; account access; correct use of the submission platform; upload completion; verifying that each submission was received; and allowing adequate time for technical delays. Participants are strongly encouraged to upload catches well before the cutoff.

A screenshot showing an attempted upload, draft, unsent message, or pending transmission is not proof that a submission was timely received. The Participant should preserve the official receipt, confirmation screen, or submission identifier.

When the Tournament Director determines that the official platform experienced a material system-wide failure affecting multiple Participants, the Director may announce a uniform alternate submission procedure or other reasonable remedy. No alternate method or deadline extension is effective unless officially announced to all affected Participants. Individual connectivity or device problems do not constitute a system-wide failure.

The entry with the earlier submission that first established the tied final score ranks higher. The controlling time is the official timestamp of the scoring submission that caused the entry to reach its final tied total.

If the tie remains, the entry with the longest single verified scoring fish ranks higher.

If the tie remains, the entry representing the greatest number of eligible species among its scoring fish ranks higher.

If the tie cannot be resolved through the preceding methods, the Tournament Director will determine the result using a fair and consistently applied method appropriate to the circumstances.

The Tournament Director's tie-breaking determination is final for Tournament-administration purposes, subject to applicable law.

A protest must be submitted during the announced protest window after provisional results are published and before awards are finalized. Protest-window length: 60 minutes. Protest submission method: official form. A protest is timely only when received through the designated method before the protest window closes.

A protest must clearly identify the protesting Participant; the Participant, catch, score, or decision being challenged; the specific rule involved; the factual basis for the protest; and the photographs, screenshots, witness information, or other supporting evidence available. Unsupported accusations, rumors, generalized objections, or social-media posts do not constitute a valid protest.

The Tournament Director or designated judges may review original photographs and metadata; interview Participants or witnesses; inspect equipment; request written explanations; correct scoring or clerical errors; reject unreliable or irrelevant evidence; and take any other reasonable step necessary to decide the protest. The Organizer may provide an affected Participant a reasonable opportunity to respond when practical.

Protests must be submitted respectfully. Harassment, threats, public confrontation, or interference with judges, volunteers, or another Participant may independently violate the Sportsmanship provisions. The Organizer may keep protest materials confidential to the extent reasonably practical, but cannot guarantee confidentiality when disclosure is necessary to investigate or decide the matter.

Judges and the Tournament Director have final authority to decide protests and scoring disputes for Tournament purposes, subject to applicable law.

Expiration of the protest window does not prevent the Organizer from correcting a material clerical error, duplicate submission, ineligible catch, false statement, fraud, or other serious rule violation discovered after awards. The Organizer may revise results and require the return of an improperly awarded prize.

A Participant may not submit, claim, transfer, or receive credit for a fish caught by another person. Approved team scoring is permitted only as expressly provided in the applicable team rules.

• Submitting a fish caught before Tournament hours;
• Submitting a fish caught outside Tournament boundaries;
• Submitting the same fish more than once;
• Submitting another person's fish;
• Altering or fabricating a photograph;
• Digitally changing a measurement or event identifier;
• Staging a fish for later submission;
• Providing false time, location, species, or catch information; and
• Attempting to deceive an official or interfere with verification.

A Participant may not intentionally interfere with another person's fishing line, casting area, fishing location, rod or equipment, catch, measurement, photograph, submission, or safe access to or from the shoreline. No Participant has an exclusive right to a public fishing location merely because the Participant arrived first or is competing in the Tournament.

Participants must not engage in littering; harassment; threats; fighting; abusive, discriminatory, or intimidating conduct; trespassing; damage to public or private property; interference with volunteers or officials; interference with lifeguards, law-enforcement officers, or emergency personnel; or unreasonable interference with beach users, wildlife, residents, or businesses. Participants must remove fishing line, hooks, bait containers, packaging, and other waste from their fishing area.

A Participant may not compete while impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs, medication, exhaustion, illness, or another condition that materially compromises safe judgment or conduct.

A sportsmanship violation may result in a warning; rejection of one or more catches; a score adjustment; division or Tournament disqualification; removal from the Event; prize forfeiture; ineligibility for future events; or referral to an appropriate authority.

Participants fish and attend the Tournament at their own risk and must accept the separate Liability and Legal Disclaimer before participating. Each Participant is responsible for deciding whether conditions are safe for that Participant's experience, physical condition, clothing, equipment, and fishing method.

Participants must use caution around surf and shore break; rip currents and undertow; tides and rising water; sandbars, holes, rocks, jetties, and unstable terrain; lightning and changing weather; high winds; heat, cold, and sun exposure; darkness and low-light conditions; marine animals and wildlife; hooks, knives, sinkers, lines, and casting areas; vehicles and beach traffic; and limited communications or delayed emergency response.

The Tournament's start, continuation, relocation, or failure to issue a warning is not a representation that conditions are safe for every Participant. A Participant must stop fishing and move to safety whenever the Participant believes conditions are unsafe.

Participants must immediately comply with lifeguard instructions; law-enforcement directions; beach closures; evacuation orders; warning flags; governmental orders; and Tournament safety announcements.

A Junior Participant must be supervised as required by the published Junior Division rules. The parent or guardian remains responsible for determining the appropriate level of supervision and may not rely on the presence of Tournament volunteers as childcare or individual safety supervision.

The Tournament Director may delay, shorten, suspend, alter, relocate, reschedule, or cancel all or part of the Tournament when reasonably considered necessary because of unsafe weather or surf; lightning; fire, smoke, or air-quality conditions; beach or road closure; governmental direction; permit or access restrictions; emergency conditions; technology or operational failure; environmental or wildlife concerns; or another circumstance materially affecting safety, legality, fairness, or Tournament operation.

Details on whether the event may be rescheduled, whether scores from a shortened event will stand, and what happens if the event is cancelled before or after fishing begins will be published as Details coming soon.

Whether entry fees, side-pot fees, processing fees, and optional purchases are refundable, creditable, or transferable under each cancellation scenario will be published as Details coming soon. Any refund, credit, or transfer is governed exclusively by the posted Refund and Cancellation Policy and applicable law.

A modification or cancellation becomes effective when announced through an official Tournament communication channel. Participants are responsible for monitoring official communications before and during the Tournament.

A Participant's personal decision not to begin or continue fishing does not automatically create a right to a refund, credit, transfer, or reimbursement. Any entitlement is determined under the published Refund and Cancellation Policy and applicable law.

Only award categories identified as active in the final published award schedule will be offered. Potential categories include overall awards; division awards; species awards; Junior awards; Family Team awards; sponsor awards; Big Fish Side Pot awards; lawfully authorized drawing or raffle prizes; and participation awards. A winner need not be present at the awards ceremony to claim an award. If presence is later required, the published rules will state the time and location of the ceremony; the grace period, if any; whether a parent may claim for a Junior; whether an authorized representative may claim; and what happens to an unclaimed prize.

All awards remain subject to final verification of registration; division eligibility; catch eligibility; measurement; submission timing; sportsmanship; compliance with these Terms; and any sponsor-specific conditions disclosed in advance.

A potential winner may be required to provide identification, eligibility information, a signed prize acknowledgment, tax documentation, or other reasonably necessary paperwork. Failure to provide required documentation within the published claim period may result in forfeiture.

Each winner is responsible for taxes, reporting obligations, travel expenses, transportation, licensing, registration, or other costs associated with accepting or using an award, except to the extent the Organizer expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Whether one Participant may win more than one overall, division, species, team, sponsor, or side-pot award, and how a prize passes down when stacking is prohibited, will be published as Details coming soon.

Any prize substitution, cancellation, or change caused by sponsor withdrawal, unavailability, shipping restriction, or another circumstance will be handled under the final published award schedule and applicable law.

A person who receives a prize based on an ineligible catch, false information, scoring error, or later-confirmed violation must return the prize or its reasonable value upon written request.

Any raffle, opportunity drawing, or other chance-based promotion must be separately reviewed, authorized, and governed by separate official rules before it is advertised, sold, or conducted. Tournament entry alone does not automatically include entry into a raffle or drawing unless separate official rules expressly provide otherwise.

Participants may be asked to review and sign an Organizer-approved media release at check-in. Any required media release and the consequences of declining it will be disclosed before entry whenever reasonably practical.

Consent to receive advertising, sponsor promotions, newsletters, or other marketing communications will be kept separate from mandatory Tournament acknowledgments where required or appropriate. Declining optional marketing communications will not affect competition eligibility.

As reasonably necessary to administer and report the Tournament, the Organizer may publish a Participant's name; division; team name; score; ranking; eligible catch photograph; general hometown or region, if provided; and award status. This limited administrative use does not replace any separate release required for broader advertising, endorsement, merchandising, or commercial publicity.

The Tournament Director and designated judges have final authority over registration and eligibility; division placement; species identification; catch verification; measurement; scoring; submission timing; tie-breakers; protests; sportsmanship; interpretation of these Terms; and enforcement and disqualification.

The Tournament Director may take reasonable measures to verify compliance, including reviewing original files, checking timestamps, inspecting equipment, requesting explanations, interviewing witnesses, comparing submissions, and correcting clerical or scoring errors.

Rules and interpretations will be applied as consistently as reasonably possible to similarly situated Participants. An isolated failure to enforce a rule does not waive that rule or require the Organizer to disregard a later violation.

Before fishing begins, the Tournament Director may issue written clarifications or corrections reasonably necessary to resolve ambiguity, correct an error, comply with law, or preserve fair competition. After fishing begins, a material rule may be changed only when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, safety, a governmental direction, a system-wide operational problem, or correction of an obvious error. Any such change must be communicated through an official channel and applied as fairly and uniformly as circumstances permit.

No Tournament decision is intended to override applicable law or eliminate a legal right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived.

• A warning;
• Rejection of a specific submission;
• Removal of one or more fish from a score;
• A score reduction;
• Division disqualification;
• Complete Tournament disqualification;
• Removal from the Event;
• Prize forfeiture;
• Revision of final standings;
• Ineligibility for future events; or
• Referral to law enforcement, wildlife authorities, a venue operator, or another appropriate entity.

A violation by one team member may affect the entire team when the conduct benefited the team, involved a team submission, was known or reasonably should have been known by other team members, or materially compromised the integrity of the team score.

A disqualified Participant is not automatically entitled to a refund, credit, or transfer. Any such entitlement is governed by the Refund and Cancellation Policy and applicable law.

Participants must cooperate honestly and reasonably with Tournament verification and enforcement procedures. Destruction, concealment, or fabrication of relevant evidence may be treated as an independent violation.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where another law is mandatorily applicable.

Any legal proceeding concerning these Terms that is not governed by another valid agreement must be brought in an appropriate state or federal court located in California, unless applicable law requires another forum.

If a provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it will be enforced or modified to the maximum extent permitted by law. If modification is not permitted, the provision will be severed, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

No oral statement by a volunteer, sponsor, vendor, Participant, judge, or other person modifies these Terms. Only an official written communication issued or approved by the Tournament Director may clarify or amend a Tournament rule.

These Terms and the documents expressly incorporated into them constitute the Tournament agreements concerning entry and competition. In the event of a conflict: applicable law controls over every Tournament document; these Terms control general entry and competition matters; a division supplement controls specific rules for that division; the Liability and Legal Disclaimer controls risk, release, indemnification, and liability matters; the Refund and Cancellation Policy controls refunds, credits, and transfers; and separate raffle, drawing, or Side Pot rules control those respective promotions.

By selecting the acceptance checkbox, typing a name, signing electronically, or submitting registration, the Participant confirms that: the Participant has read these Terms; the Participant understands and voluntarily accepts them; the Participant intends the electronic act to serve as a legal signature; the registration information is accurate; and the Participant understands that Tournament officials may rely on that acceptance.
